It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing on Sept. 30, 2020, of Marvin E. Beck, a beloved member of our community and a stalwart in the Bastrop County Democratic Party. The list of Marvin’s achievements is long and varied, culminating in a number of philanthropic works here in our community. Along with his wife Anne, Marvin received a Point of Light award from the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce for their dedicated community service. As one of his last kind acts, Marvin established a scholarship fund to honor his late wife and encourage higher education for Bastrop County students.
