One of the easiest ways to get involved is spending time with like-minded people. Several Democrat groups in Bastrop County meet regularly. Some are strongly activist. Some are strictly social. Some have specific interests. Some support specific candidates. One of them is sure to be your niche.
Persisterhood of Bastrop County meets for dinner on the third Wednesday of the month (except December) beginning at 5:30. Location varies monthly. We are an oasis of friendship and support. We are not an action group; all of us belong to other groups that are. Our dinner conversations are diverse and always interesting. For now, we are only open to women. Liberals Dining and Drinking (LDD) is a social group that meets weekly for conversation and camaraderie. Most meetings are on Thursday evenings at 6:30 at various locations. The one exception is the second week each month, when the group meets at 5:30 on Wednesday at Leo’s Italian Grill, where after dinner they can sing (or watch) karaoke.
