Saturday, June 14, 2025—
On this day, in our bright red rural county in our bridge red state, over 700 concerned citizens lined the pedestrian bridge in Bastrop as part of the national No Kings! movement. The turnout was astonishing and caught the eye of numerous media outlets both in Bastrop County and in Austin.
Event organizer Mary Liz Singleton with the off-duty police officer who was contracted to provide security for all participants.
