Democrats are doing the people’s business while Republicans serve themselves (commentary)

President Donald Trump calls Democrats the “Do Nothing Party” claiming they only investigate him. That’s simply not true.
 
As part of a co-equal branch of government, House Democrats are performing their Constitutional duty of oversight while passing 250 bills that address the public’s needs. Those bills stand in stark contrast to the Republicans’ way of governing.
 
Unfortunately, this slew of bills have little chance to become law because they’re collecting cobwebs on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s desk. The Senate has become a legislative graveyard and McConnell is proud to call himself the “grim reaper” by not allowing any legislation onto the Senate floor for a vote.
