The Bastrop County Democratic Party has two scholarship programs. Both scholarships can be used at any accredited technical school, college, or university. The scholarships are sponsored by local Democrats to promote civic awareness and leadership.
Seniors at BISD’s Bastrop High School, Cedar Creek High School, and Colorado River Collegiate Academy may apply for the Anne and Marvin Beck Memorial Scholarship. Originally endowed by Marvin Beck to honor his late wife Anne, this scholarship now acknowledges both of these long-time BCDP stalwarts.
All high school seniors who are residents of Bastrop County may apply for the Molly Ivins Civic Scholarship, named in honor of the newspaper columnist, author, political commentator, and humorist so beloved by all Texas Democrats.
Scholarship applications will be available to students in December of each year. Students can check with their school counselor for the application.
