It’s a Bastrop County tradition for candidates, their supporters and anyone else interested to gather on election night in the parking lot next to the Bastrop Advertiser building at 908 Water St. in Bastrop. There, precinct returns are posted on large white boards as soon as they are tabulated and released by the elections office (across the street at the county courthouse). It’s a festive — and sometimes suspenseful — evening, so please feel free to join us there. Bring a lawn chair, unless you want to stand for a few hours!
After the primary, we will come together and work as one to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot this fall. We hope you will find a way to get involved with our Democratic Coordinated County-wide Campaign – and there’s no time to lose! The planning and hard work to Get Out the Vote for our Democratic ticket begins as soon as the Primary ends. We will be registering new voters and working hard to spread a Democratic message to all voters, from June through November 6.
